Until very recently Vanessa Kingori held dual roles at the world’s most prestigious magazine publishing house, Conde Nast, where she has worked over six years. She was both Publisher of men’s fashion bible GQ Style, a title which has reached the pinnacle of its commercial success under her tenure, and Associate Publisher – Fashion of GQ, Britain’s most successful quality men’s lifestyle magazine.
With over a decade of experience in the publishing industry, ranging from daily newspapers, weekly, monthly, and biannual magazines, as well as online and digital executions, she has developed a great understanding of the varying challenges and opportunities involved in creating editorially excellent and commercially viable media products. It has also afforded her unique access and insight into the business operations of some of the most successful and powerful brands as well as men’s behavioural trends. As a result, Vanessa is extremely well connected within the worlds of luxury, fashion, and media. She therefore regularly acts as consultant and public speaker on related matters.
The 6th annual Powerlist Magazine, 2013, named Vanessa one of the 20 Most Influential Black Britons under 40 years old. This accolade highlighted that she is the first black person to achieve the role of Publisher in Conde Nast UK’s near 100-year history. She is also the youngest person currently in the role of Publisher.
