Jonathan Akwue

12th September 2017 By antonyjsmith

Jonathan Akwue is Managing Partner at DigitasLBi – a data inspired marketing agency operating in 40 countries with over 7,000 people worldwide.

His career spans design, advertising, digital strategy, social media and content marketing. During this time he has worked across sectors and industries with some of the world’s biggest brands, including Samsung, Unilever and Rolls Royce.

He was formerly the CEO of Lost Boys, an award-winning creative agency specialising in social content. In this capacity he led the successful merger of the agency into DigitasLBi in order to increase its scale and mainstream its specialisms. He now leads the campaigns and content practice as part of the Executive team. He is also the global digital lead on key client accounts.

Alongside his day job, Jonathan chairs The Ideas Foundation, an education charity that identifies and nurtures creatively talented young people from diverse backgrounds. He is a trustee of Black Cultural Archives, which launched the UK’s first Black heritage centre in 2014. He also co-founded The Great British Diversity Experiment, which aims to prove that greater diversity leads to better creative outputs.

Jonathan is passionate about using technology and innovation to create more relevant and meaningful communications. He has established a reputation as being one of the leading voices championing the case for a more diverse and inclusive industry.
